Age UK RespectAbility Programme
Are you bored with looking at your own four walls? Are you looking for someone to talk to and share activities with?
If you are over fifty and live in the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness Age UK Barrow and District may have the programme you are looking for. The Lottery Funded RespectAbility programme offers opportunity for people to engage in a variety of ventures and activities in the company of others in a warm and welcoming environment.
All activities, including materials used are free to clients and individual assessments can be made it order to understand each clients needs. RespectAbility is about providing positive choices to enhance peoples confidence and abilities as well as introducing them to new people and experiences.
Clients can engage in IT courses for complete beginners, how to use the internet, E-Bay, Skype etc. Developing woodworking skills, craft sessions, walking groups, games, quizzes, reminiscence sessions and dining with others and many more options.
The programme is open to anyone who may be, for whatever reason, becoming a little more isolated than is good for them or who may have some other life limiting condition, however Age UK cannot meet personal care needs.
